About
As an introvert and shy girl, Sharmin often keeps to herself, letting her imagination run wild and free. She often expresses how writing is her voice because where spoken words have failed her, written words have not. It’s no surprise that this timid girl grew up with her nose in a book and a pen in her hand.

Sharmin knew books held magic, but to create her own magic with words was something surreal. She’s still perfecting her craft because a writer’s job is never-ending. Though writing is hard work, Sharmin loves that it allows her to escape into new worlds, learn things she otherwise might not have known about, and to share stories with people, hoping to give them the same amount of joy she has when reading.
Reading is her safe haven, and she aims to write books that provide this safe space for her readers to learn, to grow, to be happy. As a minority, she understands the need for amplifying unheard voices, and she hopes that someone out there feels like they’re seen.
My Debut Novel, Mission Rider

In this YA debut about navigating loss and confronting hurt, two teens unwillingly paired for a school project discover that their lives are a lot more similar than they are different.
Some families fall apart anyway…
Aeryn Rider wants to do better, but her temper cuts through people like a blade. Aeryn was used to her mother taking off, always sure that her mother would come back. Until one day, she didn’t. Now, Aeryn is under her sister’s guardianship with a whole new set of problems—stress about college, her nephew stuck in the hospital, and returning to school after punching Robbie Nelson.
Alex Finley seems to have it all—a winning attitude, a wealthy family, and a group of friends who just so happen to have it out for Aeryn. When the two are paired for a school project, Alex is sure he can charm his way into her life, but Aeryn is less than enthused about Alex’s persistence, especially his hopeful attitude.
As they delve into this partnership, and possible friendship, Alex learns what lay beneath her tough exterior, and Aeryn discovers that she and Alex are more alike than she thought. Maybe having a little hope isn’t so bad after all.
